Looks like this Gaming hustle is split ruffly down the middle between men & women...

Post by jamie » Mon Mar 14, 2016 1:24 pm

So I'm in the tail end of another advertising campaign for my service videogamestashbox.com and associated Indiegogo fundraiser and it looks like the trend is still going.
There really are ruffly an equal number of African Americans both men & women who are interested in gaming.

Sample size: 34.8k thousand Target demographic: African Americans

More women responded but men had a higher response rate.

Note - Impressions:

The advertisements were delivered to women in higher numbers then men. Women received ruffly 2k more ads then men. Given the amount received by men they responded at a rate 2% higher then women.

Note - Engagement rate: (Campaign total - 0.51%)
The Engagement rate of 0.51% for the over all campaign is 628.57% higher then the Average twitter Post Engagement rate. So this isn't an insignificant read in terms of twitter advertising circles. Though I may want to set up an Instagram account for my business

Instagram Blows Away Twitter on Brand Engagement By Almost 50x

Note - Calculations:
Campaign total - 0.51%
Twitter average - 0.07%

Fold increase: (Campaign total - Twitter average) / Twitter average = (0.51% - 0.07%) / 0.07% = 0.44% / 0.07% = 6.2857%
Check: 6.2857% * 0.07 = 0.439999

Percent Increase: 6.2857% *100 = 628.57%
Check: 0.07% + 628.57% = 0.509999% (error 0.001%) -- I'm not good with error calculation

I just started looking over this stuff and this stat popped out and smacked me in the face...
More 18-24yr black women responded to a video game ad then 18-24yr black men. To be fair, the system apparently swamped women with ads for some reason...

That said it's not enough to know, you have to interpret that knowledge. It's usually the interpret part (I.E. "what does it mean"/imply) where people fall apart and start saying weird outlandish things.

Given the data, the only thing you can honestly gauge is general interest. Once you've determined an interest the next question would be "well, what kind of games does the demographic (black women) like". For that question I have no data either way. But I am curious now.

Example:
Are we talking traditional game (eg console and pc),downloadable, browser, mobile, etc.?

Implications:
I don't deal in anything short of disc based media so I wouldn't be able to service those other areas now ...(though I'm thinking of adding downloadable game keys)

Those are exactly the kind of questions that you would ask at this point. If you have a service it's good to know what the people need/want. That's actually part of the reason I setup this "gaming society" the way it is. I'm still trying to figure out how to integrate the kids in without them being exposed to excess "f**kery". I want to lock societies to certain groups and leave the communal area open to all. I'll figure something out....

Anyway, If there are any suggestions about anything ladies(heck or anybody) ...just hit me back.
